Today current situation people search for automatic hand sanitizer dispenser without ardunio. Because in this current COVID-19 situation mostly virus spread from sneezing & coughing and if an infected person touches his/her hands to common places such as switches of lift, the counter of the shop, etc and then uninfected person touch these places then virus touch his/her hand so after some time hand washing is very important thing. In workplace employees use their hands to write reports, to open and close doors, etc. Because of all these activity viruses, bacteria, and germs are spread from hand to hand. 80 to 90 percent virus, germs, and bacteria are spread from hands, and illness is increased. Some employee comes to the office due to insecurity of job even they not feeling well. To overcome this spreading virus, germs and bacteria wash your hand with water and soap or hand sanitizer. When you wash hand with soap or sanitizer, the outer layer of virus get ruptured and the virus becomes inactive.

HOW TO WASH HANDS:

Using Soap and Water
wet your hands by cool or warm water then take a soap and rub/apply on your hands. now rub your hand together scrub all the area of hand such as palm, fingers, the gap between fingers, nails, under nails, upper part of your hand and finger, wrist area. Scrubbing continued for 20 seconds, if you need a timer to check the time then sing a"Happy Birthday" song twice to complete 20 seconds. Then wash your hand using tap water. Dry your hand using a hand dryer.
Using Alcohol-based hand sanitizer
Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer which contains at least 60% alcohol. Take some quantity of alcohol on the palm of your hand and spread it on the whole hand such as, palm, fingers, the gap between fingers, nails, under nails, upper part of your hand and finger, wrist area. Spread it till hands fill dry, it will take time around 20 seconds.

HOW TO MAKE AUTOMATIC SANITIZER DISPENSER WITHOUT USING ARDUINO

World Health Organization(WHO) advised to clean your hands with sanitizer or soap and water. So nowadays everyone can use hand wash or sanitizer but the main problem is the path to do it, that physical connection with the bottle to press. so to overcome this problem we make automatic soap or sanitizer dispensers with sensors. There are different ways to make automatic sanitizer dispenser without arduino. Here we can make movable and affordable dispenser, so everyone can perches it.

Components required:
  • Submersible DC Motor pump
  • Small pipe/Medical tube
  • Infrared Sensor(IR)
  • TIP32C PNP transistor
  • 1 k Ohm resistor
  • Copper wire
  • USB cable or battery or cell
  • soldering gun and metal
  • Sanitizer Bottle

  1. Submersible DC Motor pump: It is 3 volt to 5 volt. This is light weighted, tiny small in size, low consumption, less noise DC motor pump. Red wire connected to motor indicates positive terminal and Black wire connected to motor indicates negative terminal. If it is not submersible then it will burn off.
  2. Small pipe/Medical tube: One end of the Small pipe is connected to the motor and another is open end for an outlet. it used to pump out solution or liquid.
  3. Infrared sensor: The IR sensor consists of a transmitter and receiver part. it emits and detects radiations when an object comes in connect with sensor the infrared light from LED reflects off of the object and received by the receiver. it acts as a proximity sensor and they are commonly used in object detection.
  4. TIP32C PNP transistor: Transistor consists of a three-terminal base, collector, emitter, it is used to control the speed of the motor.
  5. 1 k Ohm Resistor: Resistor is used to control the voltages and the currents in your circuit.
  6. USB cable or battery or cell: It is used to give supply to the motor.
  7. soldering gun and metal: It is used to solder the electronic components by using metal.

Procedure:
  1. Take a Submersible DC motor and attach a pipe to it of length required and by using cable tie for proper fitting. Cut the extra cable.
  2. Now make a hole at the center of the bottle cap which is of pipe size, and make another small hole for motor wire.
  3. Insert motor in a bottle and take out Another end of the pipe (which is open) and motor wire from drilled downhole of cap.
  4. Now your pump is ready. Now insert the copper wire from the open end of the pipe into the bottle which is below the cap or 1/4 section of the bottle from the upper side.
  5. By using glue gun fix the IR sensor and TIP32C transistor on the cap.
  6. Now solder the base terminal and one terminal of resistor. Another terminal of the resistor is soldered with the OUT terminal of the sensor.
  7. Now connect the emitter terminal to the VCC of the sensor.
  8. The negative wire of the pump is connected to the GRD(Ground) of the sensor. The positive wire of the pump is connected to the collector of the transistor.
  9. Now take the USB cable cut the charging pin of cable, remove the upper cover then you can see red(positive) and black(negative) wires, now connect the positive and negative terminal of cable to VCC and GND of sensor respectively. (or you can use battery)
  10. Now spread some glue on the transistor and soldered part to protect the device from damage.
  11. Now insert sanitizer in a bottle and attach USB pin to adapter or power bank.
  12. LED turn on shows power supply.
  13. Another LED is blinked when the object is detected.
  14. By adjusting the screw on the proximity sensor we can adjusting the threshold distance form object.
  15. To control the flow of sanitizer we insert the front cap of unusable pen.

Advantages of Automatic dispenser:
  • Eliminate human physical contact with the bottle: The most important use is eliminated physical or direct contact with the bottle so everyone is safe from viruses or germs.
  •  Easy to use: Easy to use for those people who struggle to press the top of the dispenser.
  • Portable: It is light weighted and small in size so easily move it.
  • Affordable: It is affordable as compare to other automatic dispensers.
  • Easy to repair: In case it is damaged then easy to repair.

Disadvantage of Automatic dispenser:
  • Limited Battery life: If the battery is used for power supply then the battery has limited life so after discharged it will be replaced.

Application of Automatic dispenser:
  • Public places
  • In shop, Malls and cinema halls.
  • At the entrance of buildings
